Course Description
This session deals explicitly with issues related to sexual harassment and makes references to sexual offences.
ICENA provides a range of courses on sexual harassment in the workplace which can be tailored to your specific sector and/or business types and to the specific needs of participants according to their job roles.
Course Content
By the end of this session learners will:
- Know the three types of harassment in the Equality Act and understand how each may happen.
- Understand what victimisation is and how it might happen.
- Be able to identify instances of harassment and victimisation.
- Understand how sexual offences may be part of harassment in the workplace.
- Begin to understand who is responsible for harassment and victimisation and how each could be prevented.

Learning Objectives
In January 2020, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) published a document entitled ‘Sexual Harassment and Harassment at Work – Technical Guidance’, which advises that all employers and organisations, no matter their size or their number of employees, should offer training on sexual harassment that covers:
- types of harassment and victimisation
- how to handle complaints of harassment
- what to do if they experience harassment
